Become a champion for former foster youth in Latvia

Without your support and without one safe friend or mentor, former foster youth face prison, houselesness, prostitution, trafficking and repeating the cycles of generational neglect and abuse they’ve experienced.

Lighthouse Transitional Care exists to stop these cycles and help former-foster youth heal from their wounds, thrive in adulthood and know they are deeply loved by God.

Just $50 covers a month of programming for one of our youth.

Accountability and impact

Become a major donor

As a valued major donor and partner of the Lighthouse (EIN: 82-2684891), you become an integral part of our mission to equip and empower former foster youth. We invite you to journey with us and share in the growth, learning and milestones along the way. When you give a tax-deductible gift to the Lighthouse, you become a special part of our community, you’ll receive exclusive updates that highlight the profound impact your generosity is making here in Latvia.

Make a difference

The Lighthouse relies on your support to sustain and expand our vital programs, including:

  • Life-skills classes to empower youth with practical tools for independence.

  • Grocery assistance to provide essential nutrition and alleviate financial stress.

  • Medical and mental health support to ensure holistic care for their well-being.

  • A committed team of volunteer mentors to help equip our youth with the relational skills needed for a connected future.

In addition, we are making moves to hire and sustain a local social worker(s) who can serve as a crucial link to connect our youth to the services and resources they need to thrive. Together, we can continue making a lasting difference in their lives.

Organizational history

2022

This was a huge year of growth for the Lighthouse. We added two staff members and formalized partnerships with several Riga-based organizations.

2023

In 2023 we were able to fully return to a new normal after the Covid-19 pandemic. We reinstated family dinner events in homes and more deeply connected with our youth.

2024

This year we focused on strengthening partnership to grow our programs. We provided practical help through groceries and funding medical and mental healthcare for our youth.

“Jesus persistently loved those the world (and the church!) had written off, and that’s exactly what Lighthouse is about. We find it a joy to participate in work that’s so dear to God’s gentle and lowly heart.”
